1USV Represented on National TV
Jennifer Vasquez, who plays TAPS for the Memorial Honors Honor Guard Detail of the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry received an official invitation to the show, a “Christmas Concert for the Troops”. This show will be on national television. Newspaper articles, with pictures, showing Andrea (Jennifer’s older sister who is currently a Naval Academy cadet) playing TAPS and describing the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry Memorial Honors Honor Guard Detail’s involvement in providing military honors at veteran’s funerals was seen by the producers of the show in Washington, DC.
Apparently, they have seen our website, www.1usv.org. and possibly have linked over to www.usmilitaryhonors.org. They were impressed with what they have learned about Jennifer, Andrea, and here brother Rafael (also former 1USV, prior to enlisting into the US Marine Corps). Andrea will be in the mist of final exams for this semester at the Naval Academy and cannot attend the show. Rafael cannot attend because he is currently serving in the USMC.
The information below about “Christmas Concert for the Troops” can be found at the website of the “USO Metropolitan Washington” at http://www.usometro.org/ . Open the drop down menu under “Programs” and choose “Ticketline.”
